GIRL'S CAMP FUNDRAISER

I know what you are thinking, "Girl's Camp fundraising already?"
Last year there was so much going on the last few months of school year that I decided to get an early start. The night was a huge success and we raise about a third of the money. We have an awesome ward! So many people came out to support the girls.
We served Hawaiian Haystacks and Salad. It was great because we fed over 200 people for about $150! I made the girls work the night serving food and clearing plates.

The young women sold "service" like babysitting and house cleaning for a set price. We decorated these blocks so the buyer had something to take home with the girl's name and number.
The dessert auction was the big money maker. We have some awesome moms that created some great desserts. Tom was out bidding some of them to get the prices up!
The girls performed the Hukilau! Then we taught it to the audience. Like they do at a Luau. Yes, that is Darcy next to me. She loves Mutual so much! She thinks she is one of the young women.
I overheard this conversation in the car...
Darcy: "I'm a Beehive!" Kayla: "Darcy! I'm a Beehive!" Darcy: "Then I'm a Limeade!"
We played this cute game with some of the dads. They were from different Pacific Islands and answered questions about island life then performed their "native" dance. It was hilarious!
The night ended with a special performance by some of our youth who swing dance. They did a great job! The crowd loved it!
So glad it is over! Till next year.
