THIS IS THE PLACE HERITAGE PARK

This is the place monument marks the spot where the Mormon pioneers first entered the Salt Lake Valley. It is where Brigham Young declared "This is the right place" in July 1847. Both Tom and I have pioneer heritage and thought it would be a great place to show our children.

There is much more than just a monument. There is an entire village of historic buildings from that period. We visited an old General Store and bought candy from a jar, a Blacksmith, a wood worker, an old barber shop and so much more.

This is the old schoolhouse. The girls sat at the desks and practiced letters on little chalkboards.

Pony rides! Always fun!

Darcy wondered where are the doors?

She liked shaving wood with an old tool.

Um, yep! I like my SUV thank you very much!

They have the cutest little train ride for the kids.

Just a great day!

So fun! We haven't been there in years, and I don't think the kids have EVER been there. I guess we should add that one to the list.

Your blog is super cute!
