We took the girls to Morro Bay State Park for a couple of days of glorious camping.

This is the view from Black Hill. The mile long hike was easy and boy what a view!!!
Black Hill is one of nine "morros" in the area.
The actual Morro Rock is puny in comparison.
Darcy is our little nature girl. She wanted to hike on and on...
Kayla on the other hand insisted on being held while she ate some mini donuts!
Of course we made pancakes for breakfast...

The girls enjoyed them.

The nights were cold but we kept each other warm and played Go Fish 1,743 times!
This was a great place to camp. (They have hot showers!)
There was a lot to do. Morro Bay is just down the street.
We drove out to the famous Morro Rock and watched the sea otters play in the ocean. They also have a fantastic little Museum within walking distance from our campsite. The girls did remarkably well (better than I thought they would) with sleeping in a tent. Kayla asked if we could stay longer. I'm sure we will be back!

Looks like SO much fun. I am sad that we didn't get our campout in before we left.
Snow again today... :(
That looks so fun! We might have to try that this year!
We are trying to plan a cmap out somewhere! We'll see how Tysen does. Dan has been yearning to go...we haven't been in so long!
How fun!!! Did you get to go to San Luis? I really want to take Chason and Alan one of these days.
That campground looks beautiful! That's so great that you take your young girls camping- my parents did that for us and we loved it.
WOW! Looks like you guys had lots of fun. Wonder where Kayla gets her love of mini donuts and lack of wanting to hike from? Hmmm...
Miss you all so much. Mimi
What a fun trip! your girls did better than i do when I go camping.. haha.
it's so beautiful up there. My cousins lived there and we'd always stop on our way to Cambria and then Big Sur.
Man we didn't take advantage of the Great places around us. I miss Cali sooo bad!! I am still in winter.
We wanna go next time!!! We have TONS of Camping stuff that has yet to be used!!! P.S. When are you coming back here?!?
Awesome! We're supposed to camp this week but I'm starting to chicken out! Pat can't join and I did it last year alone but I'm not sure I want to deal with the 7 month old alone this year... we'll see:)
